Moles
Noticed mounds of soil on your lawn? This is the result of moles exploring underground and pushing up soil to clear their tunnels. They do this in search of food such as earthworms, grubs and beetles; and setting up their territory. Although harmless and not a risk to vegetation, their mounds can be unsightly and on a larger scale can be a tripping hazard especially on sports fields.
Upholding animal welfare while mitigating conflict is prioritized by our team through humane traps set underground. As they are mostly a solitary animal its often only one/two moles within yards that will need to be removed. There is however a possibility of new moles moving in as they don't consider above ground human-related boundaries - this is especially true if you have rich soil supporting a variety of insects and invertebrates sought after by moles.
Looking for a longer term solution: consider exploring the option of perimeter excavation and below-ground wildlife screening to reduce ongoing activity.
During Winter and dry Summers when food is scare near the surface moles will burrow deeper and create more mounds.
